Using Language to Destroy Gender

Zachary Evans writes,

Merriam-Webster has updated its dictionary with an additional definition of “they,” reflecting the word’s increased usage as a pronoun that refers to those who conceive of themselves as neither male nor female, the company announced Monday on Twitter. The word “they” now has four definitions…37

The intention, of course is to use language to destroy gender; these types of changes are intended to deconstruct deeply held biblical truths about creation as well as science. Propaganda, remember, is able to take heaven and make it look like hell and make hell look like heaven.

Peggy Noonan wrote an excellent article about how pronouns are being manipulated to fit with the transgender cultural stream. She begins by pointing out that Robespierre, one of the leaders of the French Revolution, was a sociopath who used violence to accomplish his bloody ends. Violence was a source of the leaders’ collective energy. Robespierre saw the French Revolution as an opportunity for the moral instruction of the nation. So he politicized reality by renaming it.

Then Noonan mentions The Inclusive Communications Task Force at Colorado State University, which has produced a speech guide. Don’t call people “American,” it directs: “This erases other cultures.” Don’t say a person is mad or a lunatic, call him “surprising/wild” or “sad.” “Eskimo,” “freshman” and “illegal alien” are out. “You guys” should be replaced by “all/folks.” Don’t say “male” or “female”; say “man,” “woman” or “gender non-binary.”

As Noonan points out, there is a special aspect of “self-infatuation, of arrogance, in telling people they must reorder the common language to suit your ideological preferences. There is something mad in thinking you should control the names of things. Or perhaps I mean surprising/wild.” Ultimately, all of this is done with a tone of, “I am your moral teacher. Because you are incapable of sensitivity, I will help you, dumb farmer. I will start with the language you speak.”

Noonan also addresses the insistence that everyone use gender-neutral pronouns. Businesses and schools are forced to grapple with properly using Zie, Sie, Zim, Em, Zir, Hir, Eirself, etc. It is also recommended that people use “their” and “they” because those terms are gender-neutral—even if such usage renders a sentence grammatically incorrect.

As a result, people are being urged to keep up with the ever-changing expectations of the cultural progressives and memorize what is appropriate or inappropriate—depending on the latest determinations of groups that perceive themselves as beleaguered.38
